About Score Valley Retreat
When I first saw Score Valley Country House, I fell in love. Nestled in the midst of creation and so close to the coast, it was a place of serenity and beauty. At the time, it was being run as a bijou bed and breakfast—elegant, comfortable, and welcoming. I wandered around the tranquil site, listened to the stream, and inhaled the wonderful cocktail of freshly cut grass and woodland. I knew that my aspirations were aligned with a much bigger vision for Score than just being a regular tourist spot.
Unsure of what the Lord was calling me to do, He began to lead me toward His grander plan. Still uncertain, I stepped out in faith. I sold my house, and, without fully understanding the path ahead, I bought the previous owners out.
And so, our transition began. We are now focusing on running residential and day retreats, courses, and classes in a wide range of themes—from spirituality to sewing, faith to fitness, well-being to woodworking. I am now supported by an outstanding team who are helping to deliver God’s plan step by step as it unfolds.

Our purpose is to create a space for growth and development, a place for people of all backgrounds and communities—those who stay or visit—to experience a “peace” of Ilfracombe. Daily, the vision becomes clearer as each of the underused spaces at this versatile location begins its transformation.
My hope is that beautiful, beautiful Score Valley Retreat will leave an imprint on your heart, just as it did on mine. I hold on to the promise that my legacy will make our visitors feel valued, loved, and blessed. Finally, I pray that you come away feeling spiritually connected, with a sense of joy and serenity that transcends all understanding.
