Woolacombe

Award-winning Woolacombe Beach is widely recognised as one of the best beaches in the UK. Located on the North Devon coast, between Croyde and Ilfracombe, the 3-mile sandy beach is popular with surfers and families looking for a traditional seaside experience.

Croyde

Croyde beach is set in a wide sandy bay between Woolacombe and Saunton Sands beaches. Despite being a little tricky to find and in a rural setting Croyde is one of North Devon’s most popular beaches - and with good reason. Not only is this one of the prettiest spots along the coast it also has the best surf.

Appledore

For centuries an important shipbuilding centre, Appledore is now home to the North Devon Maritime Museum. A large, privately owned indoor shipyard continues to employ many local people, while the quay is dotted with traditional fishing vessels, now rubbing shoulders with yachts and pleasure craft, offering cruises up and down the estuary.

Instow

Instow is a pretty and sandy beach that tends to get very busy during the summer. Calm waters, protected from swell by sandbanks at the mouth of the Taw estuary, make this a good choice for families. There are also shops and cafes in the village which is directly behind the beach.

Saunton Sands

Three and a half miles of golden sand backed by one of the most unique and impressive dune systems in the country. Saunton Sands is bounded to the south by the combined estuaries of the rivers Taw and Torridge. Popular with families and longboarders.

Combe Martin

Combe Martin beach, on the North Devon coast is set in an attractive location just below the small resort village which gives it its name. It is flanked by some of the highest sea cliffs in England, which go towards earning its designation as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The beach is a mixture of mostly and shingle and pebbles with a sandy approachIts sheltered position makes it perfect for swimming

Westward Ho

Facing westwards into Bideford Bay, Surfers and swimmers, kayakers, and paddle boarders will love this long sandy stretch of sand. The main beach is backed by the grassland of Northam Burrows Country Park and the imaginatively named Pebble Ridge.
